WhatsApp → searchable PDF
Turn a WhatsApp chat into a searchable PDF on iPhone.
Use WhatsApp’s own Export Chat file as the source. TextTrace reads the transcript directly, keeps included media connected, and creates a PDF after you review the record.
Available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

The direct route
- Export in WhatsApp. Open the conversation, choose Export Chat, and include media only when you need the attachments.
- Open in TextTrace. Select the TXT or ZIP. Transcript text is parsed from the file; it is not OCR.
- Review. Check people, dates, order, and mapped attachments against the retained source.
- Create the PDF. Choose Searchable PDF and use the iOS share sheet.
TXT or ZIP?
TXTFastest when you only need the transcript text present in WhatsApp’s export.
ZIPUse it when WhatsApp included referenced photos, documents, audio, or other media you want kept with the record.
What the PDF can and cannot do
The PDF is designed for reading, searching, printing, and review. It does not prove who controlled an account, recover deleted messages, or guarantee legal acceptance. Keep the original export and ask the recipient what context and file format they require.
Questions, answered precisely
Frequently asked questions
Does WhatsApp create the PDF itself?
No. WhatsApp creates a TXT or ZIP export. TextTrace imports that file and creates the searchable PDF.
Are WhatsApp transcript messages sent to Google Vision?
No. TextTrace parses supported WhatsApp TXT or ZIP transcript text directly. Google Vision is used for selected visual sources such as screenshots or screen recordings.
