Which chat apps work with TextTrace?
You can import a supported TXT or ZIP chat export directly. You can also use screenshots or a screen recording from any chat app whose messages are visible on screen.
Can I search the conversation before exporting?
Yes. Search messages, people, dates, attachments, and available voice transcripts, then open a result in its surrounding context.
Is text extraction always perfect?
No OCR system is error-free. TextTrace keeps the selected source available so important wording can be checked before you rely on it.
Can TextTrace recover deleted messages?
No. TextTrace works only with content present in the export, screenshots, recording, or supported unencrypted backup you select.
Does TextTrace bypass encrypted iPhone backups?
No. The Mac importer reads only unencrypted Finder or iTunes backups. TextTrace does not bypass backup encryption.
Does a checksum make an export legally admissible?
No. A SHA-256 checksum can help you check whether a file changed. It does not establish authenticity, completeness, admissibility, or legal sufficiency.
