Common reasons for a gap
WhatsApp controls its export behavior and can apply limits, particularly around long conversations and included media. A message may also have been deleted, a media file may no longer be stored on the device, the wrong chat may have been selected, or a ZIP may have been unpacked and altered before import. TextTrace cannot restore information absent from the selected source.

Report what you actually know
Use precise language: “The imported file begins on 3 March and ends on 18 August” is verifiable. “This is the entire conversation” is not, unless a qualified process established that conclusion. Keep notes about the device, conversation, export time, selected media option, and any gap you observed. That small audit trail helps the next reviewer understand the boundary without turning TextTrace into a forensic claim.
